The Positive Alternative Learning (PAL) Center was created to address the needs of disruptive students. However, the program has evolved to encompass students (grades 7-12) who desire an environment which more closely meets their educational needs. Students are able to receive their core academic studies in a small, non-traditional setting. Students also focus on social skills and academic enrichment, and practice acceptable behavior to transition to their home schools. Some of the students at the Positive Alternative Learning Center enroll in the Missouri Options Program. It provides an opportunity for students, who otherwise would not be able due to a credit deficiency, to graduate from high school and receive a diploma.
