Board President Cozy W. Marks, III recognizes Robert Cox as Citizen of the Month.

Robert Cox, a senior vice president with Emerson, has been selected as the Normandy School District's Citizen of the Month for October 2009.  Cox was recognized by the district during a recent Board of Education meeting.

As a staunch supporter of students and their success, Cox has opened the doors to various Normandy School District-Emerson partnerships that serve to benefit students and staff.  Most recently, Cox spearheaded efforts that led to Emerson's commitment of $100,000 towards the new West Hall Fitness Center at Normandy High School.

"Mr. Cox constantly goes above and beyond the call of duty in his support of district initiatives," said Cozy W. Marks, III, president of the Board of Education.  "He is a strong advocate of the district and its programs and is committed to achieving the ‘big picture' of providing all students the opportunity to receive a quality education."

The Normandy School District Citizen of the Month program was started three years ago to recognize individuals who act consistently and favorably in support of the district's schools and/or students.
