     Jacinta Weaver, an instructor at Bel-Ridge Elementary School, is the district's 2009 Emerson Excellence in Teaching awardee.  The award, sponsored by Emerson, recognizes teachers throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area for their outstanding contributions to education and the community.

     In her nomination of Weaver, Principal Sonya Murray wrote, "I have been extremely impressed with Mrs. Weaver's dedication to teaching and learning coupled with her true sense of compassion for students, parents and colleagues. She truly demonstrates passion and commitment to the teaching and learning profession.  Jacinta's strengths are in her ability to make connections with students and her uncanny ability to motivate colleagues.  Data-driven and equipped with strategies to improve achievement, Mrs. Weaver inspires everyone around her to achieve and produce at high levels."

     Weaver and other educators from the St. Louis metropolitan area were recently recognized by Emerson.
